Gerhard Krum (Mayor of the City of Idstein since 2002) "The change of the name "Bürgerpartnerschaft Dritte Welt" to "Bürgerpartnerschaft Eine Welt", signalized a meaningful attitude adjustment: We, the humans in the supposedly "First World" finally found out, that we are all in the same boat and that the responsibility of the human beings for each other on the whole world isn't impartible.
With the new name "People Help People -One World" the citizens' partnership has gained new momentum cause of individuals initiative and energy, who adopt this responsibility and accept the challenge of unrealizable seeming projects. The result is impressive and encouraging. Impressive what could be done in such a short time, encouraging what could be done by honorary engagement. Best wishes to Mr. Wingerberg and his team, many co-workers and supporters and furthermore success." |
Klaus Frietsch (District Administrator of Rheingau-Taunus-Kreis from 1989 to 1999) "There are only a few organisations, which are such successfull in development cooperation. And 'successfull' means not only collecting enough money but also to support directly the affected people on a sustained basis."
This was written by the former District Administrator Klaus Frietsch in 1995 in his Congratulatory Greetings on the occasion of the 10-year-anniversary of our association.
